Standard

 


General: the short back and the depth of the flanks are the characteristics of the Manx.
Size:        medium.

 
Head

Shape:   fairly large and round, a chubby appearance.
Cheeks: prominent.
Nose:     medium long, without a definite break ("Stop"), not retrousse.

 
Ears

Shape:         medium in size, open at the base and tapering slightly to a point.
Placement: set fairly hihg on head.

 
Eyes

Shape:  large and round.
Colour: should correspond to the colour in British varieties, but is not very important.

 
Body

Structure: solid and compact. Broad chest. Back compact and short but in balance to the body, ending in a definite broad and round rump. Flanks of great depth.

 
Legs: well muscled. Front legs short and set well apart to show off a broad chest. The hind legs are higher than the front legs forming an angle from the back to the front of the body.
Paws: round.

 
Tail

Rumpy:          in the Rumpy there is an absolute absence of tail with a definite hollow at the end of the spine.
Rumpy riser: in the Rumpy Riser there is a rise of bone (sacral bone, no caudal bone) which should not spoil the tailless appearance of the cat.
Stumpy:          in the Stumpy there is a definite short sometimes irregular formed stubby tail no longer than 3cm, which however may not be bent or kinked.


Coat

Structure: short. Double coat. Undercoat soft and thick to make a well-padded coat. Of good texture.
Colour:     all colour varieties and patterns are permitted including all colour varieties with white; any amount of white permissible.

 
Nose leather Paw pads: in harmony with coat colour.
